On 21 April 2015, the Commission for Prevention of Conflict of Interest organized the IV Educational Seminar in Danilovgrad, in the cycle of educations planned for 2015 for the local public officials of the municipalities of Danilovgrad, Nik\u0161i\u0107 and Plu\u017eine, state public officials, judges, media representatives and the NGOs.<\/p>\n
Director of the Public Procurement Administration, Mr. Mersad Mujevi\u0107 PhD took part at the Seminar as one of the speakers. The Seminar was attended by around 50 participants, among which there were directors of public institutions, public enterprises, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, directors of primary and secondary schools, directors of public nurseries and kindergardens, President of the Regional Magistrates Court, magistrates, the Secretary of the Basic Court, members of the SC, secretaries of the Secretariat and members of the local Assembly.<\/p>\n
Welcome address was given by Mr. Svetozar Domazetovi\u0107, councilor of the Danilovgrad\u2019s Assembly, and he emphasized the importance of education of the public officials in purpose of a better acquisition of knowledge in the field of conflict of interest. After the opening speech, the audience was addressed by the President of the Commission Mr. Slobodan Lekovi\u0107, who introduced the participants in detail with the manner of work and the results achieved by the Commission during the previous period, as well as with the novelties prescribed by the Law on Amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest.<\/p>\n
The speakers at the Seminar were also Mr. Mujevi\u0107 and Ms. Vesna Ratkovi\u0107. \u00a0Ms. Ratkovi\u0107 introduced the attendees to the Ethics and integrity in the public service, while Mr. Mujevi\u0107, as the Director of the Public Procurement Administration emphasized the importance of management over public finances in his speech, as well as the necessity of cooperation between institutions dealing with conflict of interest and public procurement, which was officially confirmed by signing a Memorandum on Cooperation, with an aim of fulfilling obligations and requirements arising from the Public Procurement Law, while speaking about the potential conflict of interest between the contracting authority and the bidder.<\/p>\n
Individual presentations on the themes of: obligations of the Commission arising from Action Plans for fight against corruption and organized crime, conduct of proceedings before the Commission, amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest; limitations in performance of public functions and receipt of gifts, were presented by Mr. Ivo \u0110okovi\u0107, Ms. Goranka Vu\u010dini\u0107 and Ms. Ana Rai\u010devi\u0107, members of the Commission.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
