At the request of the World Bank in Podgorica, the meeting with its representatives held in the premises of the Public Procurement Administration on February 24, 2014.
Procurement Specialist and the Team Leader of the following countries: Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, B&H, Macedonia and Kosovo, Mr. Jose Manuel Martinez together with his representatives asked for the meeting to be arranged with the Head of the PPA, Mr.Mersad Mujević, in the premises thereof.
On behalf of the Administration, the meeting was also in attendance of the Advisers of the Sector for monitoring implementation of regulations and monitoring in public procurement, as well the Adviser of the Department for professional development, training and international cooperation in public procurement field.
Through this mission in Montenegro, Mr. Martinez would like to take the opportunity to talk to the PPA representatives regarding the joint business projects in the future. The Concept on establishing the first joint EBRD-IBRD mission based on the recent international activities relating Montenegrin public procurement he mentioned in his introduction speech, at the same time pointed to the willingness of both banks for the joint support to the Public Procurement Administration.
In this respect, the main topics of the meeting were as follows:
– bringing an expert on governance and contract management, in order to give a lecture for the employees in PPA and other entities subjected to the Law on Public Procurement
– Representatives of the World Bank have shown a willingness to organize workshops on successful business with a Chamber of Economy in Montenegro
They took advantage of this meeting to invite representatives of the Public Procurement of Montenegro to take part in the X Platform of knowledge exchange in the field of public procurement, which will be held from 27 – 30 May in Istanbul.
World Bank representatives have been informed by the Administration of the financial and technical assistance required in the view of certain areas.
